Almanak is the food hall’s vegetable-driven pavilion. Enjoy housemade parfaits in the morning, or at lunch, salads and soups that rotate according to season.
Almanak takes its name from the annual agricultural calendar that forecasts weather and growing conditions of the soil throughout the year. We focus on what’s available to us in the Tri-State area this very moment.
In the morning we offer granola parfaits, made with buttermilk, skyr, or ymer, cultured Scandinavian milk products similar to yogurt and high in protein, with a variety of dried fruits, nuts, and berries.
Come lunch and throughout the day, we offer delicious chefs-created soups and salads centered around local vegetables, sustainably sourced seafood and grass-fed meats.
The Eatery is our sit down restaurant, located in the back of the food hall next to The Bar. It’s is the perfect spot for a sit-down breakfast, a business lunch, for a snack at happy hour, or dinner with friends.
The working food bar offers you a casual dining experience, while set underneath the soaring ceilings of the Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal. Here the team of chefs prepares the food right in front of you, as you sit around the open kitchen.
Our menu offers a constantly, rotating menu of delicate Nordic-style and vegetable-driven small plates, fairly priced and easy to share. Enjoy light and wholesome dishes with clean, intense flavors reflecting the best of the season’s produce sourced from farmers in the Tri-State area.
For lunch you can also choose selected items from our food hall menu, and in the evening, a selection of delicate bar snacks.
